Project Update 1

Dale Gruber Construction Projects

Fall is in full swing! Kids have all gone back to school, our warm summer temps are dwindling, it is starting to get darker earlier, and the trees are changing colors and losing their leaves in preparation for winter to arrive. Do you feel prepared for the cold winter months to come?

St. Cloud Country Club – Pickleball Courts

The sport of pickleball was a game born out of boredom back in 1965 and has now become one of the fastest growing sports in the world! DGC recently built 6 new pickleball courts for the St. Cloud Country Club. The pickleball courts were made possible thanks to donations from members and were constructed without removing the club’s historic 100-year-old oak trees. The new courts, which opened in June, are expected to attract a wide demographic to the club and there have already been numerous tournaments and leagues that members are able to join. From design concept to completion of the pickleball courts, this was a fun project to be a part of and a great new amenity for the members!

Building Controls Group – Shop Remodel

This project held special meaning as this building was the home to the Dale Gruber Construction team for over 30 years before moving to our new location.

Building Controls Group, who took over the property in 2022, is a supplier of building controls and HVAC building automation systems for the technology-driven era. Shortly after, DGC remodeled the office building garage into their city desk. Due to growth in the market, Building Controls needed to expand their city desk and display area into a larger space, so we completed the remodel on the shop to meet their growing needs. The project entailed soft features including epoxy flooring, new slat wall, and a fresh coat of paint throughout.

Deck Replacement

While the natural beauty of a wood deck is appealing to many, the continuous maintenance and chance of rotting wood over time can create a lot of added work for homeowners. Maintenance free deck material options are becoming more and more popular for new build decks or old ones coming due for a face lift. Some of our favorite products include Armadillo Composite Decking and Westbury Aluminum Railings. Armadillo Composite Decking is made locally in Paynesville, MN. There are 2 different lines available with the Evolution Series being their newer line and the next generation of premium composite decking with more texture to it to prevent slipping when it gets wet. These products are not only sustainable and designed to provide high quality durability with a brand you can trust, but have a sleek look that resists rust and corrosion. Westbury post kits are premium components for your railing project and the preferred choice over wood and vinyl. The Westbury aluminum posts have a powder coating finish, the same process used to paint vehicles, so it’s very durable and designed to provide a lasting finish. Both products are Dale Gruber Construction approved and have been used in numerous projects we’ve done!

Three-Season Porch

We are fortunate in Minnesota to be able to experience all 4 seasons throughout the year, however, with a patio you are at times subject to the elements of weather and mosquitos. Building a three-season porch is the answer for those wishing to enjoy the outdoors any time of the year! The client for this project wanted a space to read and relax without bugs and the goal was to make this addition look original to the home. This project features a vaulted ceiling with wood beam accent, shiplap on walls and ceiling, Thermo-Tech windows, and concrete that was polished and stained to resemble wood planks. Whether you’re looking for a cozy retreat or a functional entertaining area, a three-season porch can be a cost-effective way to extend your living space and valuable addition to your home!

Other DGC Projects

  • Primary Suite Remodel – We are remodeling our client’s bedroom and bathroom, incorporating aging-in-place design elements and building a nice expansive primary suite. We love having the ability to customize and tailor projects to fit our client’s needs. By modifying their home to fit their needs and aesthetic we are creating a space they can enjoy for years to come.
  • Ben’s Structural Fabrication – The DGC team has worked with Ben’s on several projects over the years – we appreciate our client/contractor relationship, built on mutual trust and respect. With the goal to maximize the existing space and create a more cohesive work area for each department, we designed and built their office to reflect innovation and industrial architecture. Some of Ben’s employees even fabricated and installed the steel beams used in the design; adding a personal touch and structural integrity.
  • Master Bath Remodel – Not only are we updating the finishes of this master bathroom, but also adjusting the layout (location of tub, shower, and vanity) to create better flow. Giving our clients the best of both worlds – beauty & function.
  • Pomp’s Tire Service – The DGC team can tackle projects big or small! We have been working with Pomp’s locations in the St. Cloud area on numerous smaller projects including installing exterior doors, replacing ceiling tile, painting, loading dock/exterior wall repairs & other miscellaneous improvements. We look forward to a continued working relationship with Pomp’s Tire and their upcoming projects!
