Woman in Construction of the Year Award!
Dale Gruber Construction President, Rachel Gruber, received the Woman in Construction of the Year Award at the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) annual Excellence in Construction Gala in Golden Valley, MN on January 29th, 2025. Members of the DGC team and the Gruber family attended the event to support Rachel in this accomplishment. Prior to the event, Rachel was featured in an article in St. Cloud Live announcing the award to be given and the event.

Under Rachel’s leadership, DGC’s values of honesty, trust, and exceeding customer expectations remain central. She champions follow-up practices to ensure client satisfaction, fostering a reputation for excellence in both residential and commercial projects.
Rachel is also a passionate advocate for the trades and education. She played a pivotal role in launching the CMBA “Tools for Schools” program, raising funds for high school trade programs, benefiting 17 central MN schools this year alone. Her dedication inspires the next generation, particularly young women, to explore careers in construction and challenge industry norms. Rachel has always been supportive of the DGC team getting involved and giving back to the community and ensures that they have the chance to participate in different volunteer opportunities each year. As an ABC MN leader, she promotes merit shop principles, engages in legislative advocacy and encourages collaboration among ABC members.
Testimonials from employees and partners highlight Rachel’s inspiring leadership, dedication to her team, and commitment to delivering quality results. Rachel’s resilience in a male-dominated industry is transforming perceptions, proving that women can excel in construction and setting a powerful example for others to follow. Her work is not only building projects but also a brighter future for the industry.
“What an incredible honor to receive the Woman in Construction of the Year award! It was a fun evening celebrating. Attendees of the gala were treated to the hometown legend guest speaker, Joe Mauer. Hearing all the baseball and MN Twins stories was entertaining, but one piece stood out to me the most. Joe shared that he didn’t get to that point in his career or have success alone. While I don’t know if the Baseball Hall of Fame and Woman in Construction of the Year fall under the same caliber, I feel the same principle still holds true. I am grateful to my dad, Dale Gruber, for building a great business and trusting me to continue his legacy, my talented team who work hard to carry out the mission of DGC, ABC for their efforts in promoting merit shop contractors and last but not least my family who are my foundation and always so supportive. Thank you to everyone! Together let’s continue to Build Today for a Better Tomorrow.” – Rachel Gruber
