Dale Gruber Retires!

Dale Gruber decided to hang up his hammer and transition into retirement! We had a great time celebrating all his accomplishments over the years and building his legacy of Dale Gruber Construction. Project by project and relationship by relationship, he built this company with honesty, hard work, attention to detail, and pride in doing things the right way. More than four decades later, we are incredibly proud of the relationships and reputation he built along the way.

Dale Gruber Construction has been owned/operated by Dale’s daughter, Rachel, since 2022 and credits her dad for the foundation that he has created. Read the full story here.

As we continue building on the foundation Dale established more than 35 years ago, we’re excited for what’s ahead. Our team remains committed to delivering quality commercial and residential remodeling projects while building lasting relationships with the clients and communities we serve. If you’re planning a project for your home or business, we’d love the opportunity to work with you.

House of Pizza – Restaurant Buildout!

House of Pizza selected Dale Gruber Construction as the general contractor for its new location inside Coborn’s in Sartell. The project involved renovating the existing restaurant space to meet House of Pizza’s operational needs while creating a fresh new dining experience for customers.

The renovation included a new customer ordering counter, bar seating, expanded dining areas, a commercial kitchen prep area, and significant modifications to the existing layout and infrastructure. Because construction took place within an occupied grocery store, careful planning and coordination were essential to keep the project moving efficiently while minimizing disruption to Coborn’s daily operations.

Throughout the buildout, our focus was on balancing functionality with design. From the flow of the kitchen and service areas to the custom finishes and architectural details, every element was carefully planned to support daily operations while reflecting the iconic House of Pizza brand.

Today, the finished restaurant offers a comfortable, inviting environment that honors the tradition of a local favorite while providing a fresh new experience for customers. As a locally owned company, it was especially meaningful for our team to be part of a project that has generated so much excitement within the Sartell community and surrounding area.

ARXG – Office Renovations & Awnings

To better support their growing team and evolving operations, ARXG by Reconomy (previously known as American Security Cabinets) in Sauk Rapids partnered with our team to complete a series of interior and exterior facility improvements. The project included renovations to the lower office area with updated finishes, fresh paint, new flooring, electrical improvements, and the removal of existing cubicles to create a clean, modern, and flexible workspace.

For exterior enhancements we installed new standing seam metal awnings and door improvements that enhance both the functionality and appearance of the building’s entrances and loading areas. Together, these thoughtful upgrades create a more welcoming environment for employees and visitors while positioning the facility to support continued growth for years to come.

Cabin Kitchen, Pantry, & Mudroom Remodel

Creating a home that better supports everyday living while enhancing its overall character and functionality is what this remodel project was all about.

Our team transformed the heart of the home with a complete kitchen renovation featuring custom hickory cabinetry, granite countertops, updated lighting, a spacious center island, and a reconfigured layout designed for cooking, entertaining, and gathering with family and friends.

To complement the kitchen, we created a highly functional walk-in pantry with floor-to-ceiling storage, adjustable shelving, and expansive countertop workspace—providing ample room for organization and meal preparation.

The renovation also included a remodeled mudroom and laundry area, complete with custom cabinetry, granite countertops, updated fixtures, and thoughtful storage solutions to improve day-to-day efficiency.

One of the most impactful changes was the removal of the wall separating the kitchen and living room, creating a more open, connected living space filled with natural light and improved flow.

The finished result is a warm, welcoming home that combines quality craftsmanship, practical storage, and timeless design. We are grateful to our clients for trusting our team to bring their vision to life and create a space their family can enjoy for years to come.

Porch Remodel

Check out how we completely transformed the back of this St. Cloud home into a bright, inviting space that can now be enjoyed year-round.

We removed the existing porch and rebuilt it from the ground up, featuring a new foundation, expansive ProVia windows, a sliding patio door, knotty pine tongue and groove, Armadillo composite decking, and beautiful exterior finishes designed to complement the existing home. The completed project now provides a stunning space filled with natural light and panoramic views.

Whether it’s enjoying your morning coffee, hosting family gatherings, or simply taking in the view, this new porch is designed to be a favorite spot in the home for years to come.

COMMERCIAL

  • Central MN Youth for Christ: Their building committee identified that repairs were needed to exterior metal doors and frames, so our team donated our time to help make practical, cost-effective repairs possible. We love to support other organizations like Youth for Christ that are leaving a lasting impact in our community.
  • Element Dermatology – Tenant Buildout: Our team was honored to partner with Element Dermatology for a second project as the practice expanded. We completed a buildout of an adjacent suite and seamlessly connected it to the existing clinic, adding procedure rooms, a nurse station, private offices, and an expanded waiting area to support their continued growth.
  • Ear, Nose & Throat – Men’s Reception: Three restroom remodels have been completed by our team as the clinic continues investing in improvements throughout their facility. We appreciate the continued partnership with St. Cloud Ear, Nose & Throat in St. Cloud and the opportunity to coordinate construction around their business hours to minimize disruption to patients and staff.

RESIDENTIAL

  • Kitchen Remodel: We reimagined the layout for this kitchen remodel and incorporated custom storage solutions to create a space that is both beautiful and highly functional for gathering, entertaining, and everyday living.
  • Concrete Patio: Our clients’ outdoor living space was expanded with a concrete patio featuring a decorative stamped finish, antiquing details, and a custom curved design creating a seamless connection to their existing deck that is low maintenance with plenty of room for relaxing.
  • Window Caulking: The DGC team has done a few residential and commercial window caulking projects lately. We educate our clients that properly applied and maintained caulking around windows can help extend their life by protecting them from moisture, drafts, and temperature extremes. If they haven’t been properly maintained, here’s some information to help you decide if it might be time to consider window replacement for your home.
